I just came home from a 5-day very quaint, very pleasant stay in Ogunquit. I learned that the locals love the Bush family and the visitors are predominantly Democratic and that I can eat a lot [actually, more seafood than I've eaten in my entire life was eaten on this trip I'm proud to type! and a little disgusted] Also, I am currently responsible for Leigh's safety and to protect her from land mines and shoot-outs.
One thing I really missed in Ogunquit was listening to music [their entertainment scene consists of a karaoke club and the Ogunquit playhouse ("The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas" starring Sally Struthers sounded great but I was only interested in sitting at the back and pointing and clogging the fountains of giggles that would try flying from my mouth)].
Everytime I go away, it's always so nice to come home to this city. We drove in silence across Pont Champlain (we were honouring Stars with a moment of silence!) and passed the "Chaz" restaurant. I thought of Leigh. And then I thought of braces and bushy hair. And then I thought of Liberal. We're starting school in less than a month! (I question what kind of exclamation point that was: a happy, excited one? or a disappointed, dreading school one?)
And now, I will leave you with a list of songs I really like and am listening to now (there are other things I'd like to say but this is the internet and I've learned that, sooner or later, everyone you know will read what you've written. I need some time to adjust!):
Tuff Luff - the Unicorns
I See Spiders When I Close My Eyes - The Boy Least Likely To (Leigh you'll like this)
Frenchy, I'm faking - Architecture in Helsinki (Leigh)
Of Angels and Angles - The Decemberists
Let's Save Tony Orlando's House - Yo La Tengo
Runaway - Del Shannon
Romulus - Sufjan Stevens (so good, I don't know anyone who wouldn't like this man)
Hugging My Grudge - The Boy Least Likely To (Leigh you'll like this too)
What the Snowman Learned About Love - Stars
Do the Whirlwind - Architecture in Helsinki (Leigh...)
It's nice to look back on what you've listened to.
:)!
